Stihl pole saw full#
I do have some disappointments with mine, one is as you mentioned, it is very heavy, especially when extended to full length.
I've had a HT131 for a couple of years, and it's a fantastic limb cutter. I generally use mine for branches hanging into fields but it is great for lots of other things.Ĭongrats on the new pole saw.
I got a price for an efco after a while but couldn't see paying more for a 25cc two stroke one though the pivoting saw portion is much better than buying an accessory for he stihl that angles just a little. The 12 inch bar is kind of necessary for when you have to cut on an extreme angle and best as I know the competition is all 10 inch. I have tried dis assembling it as much as I could, I have shims around the shaft in one spot so the fastners can clamp but I guess there is a pin you can see under the rubber of the shaft kind of in the middle that must be enlarging what it pushes against. Note how the blade has rotated relative to the power head. You can get an idea of how used mine is by the paint missing off the bar. The face guard that stihl and the sales people offered me doesn't address this issue.
I guess a hard hat would help but more like a football helmet for a lineman would be in order if you are the type that wears chaps for a normal chain saw. If you are holding it up high the likelyhood of the sharp cut end ripping into your face is increased. Like you say it vibrates a lot, not sure if it has a single sided crank like the ryobi four stroke weed wacker things of years ago, the thing doesn't come with a parts sheet and I couldn't find one on line without paying for it.įirst these things are safe in that it is hard or impossible to cut yourself however when you cut a limb what happens is the chain end upon clearing the bottom of the cut goes lower than the branch and the branch slides down the pole. I bought the larger displacement one perhaps a year or so ago.
